The most popular route within the park is without doubt the Former Site of the Revolutionary Memorial of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in Fragrant Hills, Beijing. The eight revolutionary sites include Shuangqing Villa, where Comrade Mao Zedong worked and lived; Laiqing Pavilion, where Comrades Zhu De, Liu Shaoqi, Zhou Enlai, and Ren Bishi worked and lived; the single-story building on the east side of Shuangqing Villa, which was the Central Committee Guard Office; Xiaobailou, the Central Committee Library; Sixin Hall and Duoyun Pavilion, the residence of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee; Lizhu Building, the Fragrant Hills Special Telephone Bureau; and Zhenfang Building and Zhennan Room, the CPC Central Committee Office Confidential Office. All eight revolutionary sites are concentrated in the southern mountain area, at a moderate distance from each other, and can be toured in about 2 hours. Visitors can follow the recommended route to comprehensively understand the work and life of the CPC Central Committee during their time in Fragrant Hills.

 

Ancient Temple Route

 

Biyun Temple — Fragrant Hills Temple

 

There is a temple at both the south and north ends of Fragrant Hills Park, namely the Nan Shan Fragrant Hills Temple and the Bei Shan Biyun Temple. Both temples share the characteristic of being built in layers according to the mountain terrain, creating progressively distinct scenery. Especially in autumn, the natural mountain and forest landscape serves as the most exquisite and ever-changing natural backdrop, highlighting the temple's scenery which changes from moment to moment. As for their differences, each temple has its own distinctive charm: Biyun Temple is simple, elegant, and tranquil; Fragrant Hills Temple is magnificent and splendid, with the rear garden revealing a hidden wonder.

 

Mountain Climbing and Fitness Route

 

Qinzheng Hall — Zhiyuan Studio — Zhishong Garden — Duojing Pavilion — Yuhua Peak — Xiangwu Cave — Xianglu Peak, etc.

 

Middle Fragrant Hills Road: The entire route is shaded by green trees, cool and pleasant, with a relatively even gradient. Along the way, you can visit spots such as Yuhua Peak, take a short rest, enjoy the distant view from the railing, and feel the refreshing mountain breeze. It is truly delightful.
